Hi Joyce, I would stick with all goal flour — the cake is quite light with a very tender crumb so cake flour is not required. I would also advocate sticking with typical and not the light or fat cost-free sour cream.
Following 1 hour and 15 minutes, the cake tester came out with liquid coating it. I turned up the temperature to 350 F and 15 minutes later the cake tester came out clean. A 3 layer pound cake stuffed with fluffy whipped topping, sweet strawberries, and topped with a sprinkle of lemon zest. The glaze genuinely makes the flavor pop much more, but a lemon cream cheese frosting would be fantastic on it. Like other folks pointed out, my cake was white and not the yellow like the photo but with the icing being yellow, it gave my cake the lemon look. I made this cake and while the flavor was great, it turned out a small bit dry…did I do anything incorrect?! Prepare bundt or tube pan by coating with shortening or butter and flouring light. I would enjoy this – lemon cakes are my favourite and this appears a nice, uncomplicated recipe. I made these in two loaf pans as my son who’s in college absolutely loves lemon pound cake and figured that would be easier to ship! You can very easily make this pound cake ahead of time and then serve to good friends and family members as dessert.
