The Mid-Autumn Festival, also referred to as August Moon Festival for its lunar date of August 15, celebrates the complete harvest moon. When I was young, my favourite point about mid-Autumn festival was lighting and melting candles in mooncake tins on the driveway after our yearly household dinner, figuring out all the exciting items we could do with matches and melted wax.
